LaRon Landry To Visit Detroit Lions, According To Report

Safety LaRon Landry is currently visiting with the New England Patriots, and he plans to visit a few other teams, according to Yahoo! Sports' Jason Cole. One of those teams is the Detroit Lions, which were reported as being interested in Landry earlier in the week.

A few of the players the Lions have scheduled visits with have had injury issues in the past, including Landry. There is obviously a risk with signing players with injury problems, but the flip side is that they might come a bit cheaper because of the question marks. In that regard, the risk of signing a player like Landry could produce a big reward if he can stay healthy.

For Landry specifically, he would be a nice addition to the Lions' secondary. Depth at safety was improved a bit by the Lions re-signing Erik Coleman, but adding Landry would not only upgrade the depth, but also the talent at the position.
