That didn't take long. A mere minutes after it was reported that the New York Jets were "making an aggressive push" to sign safety LaRon Landry, they did just that. From Adam Schefter:
LaRon Landry reached agreement with the Jets on a one-year, $4 million deal.

You can obviously forget about Landry visiting the Lions. That won't be happening, as he is no longer an option for the Lions at safety.
Although Detroit has already re-signed safety Erik Coleman, they are looking to add more depth at the position and upgrade it at the same time. That is why safety Oshiomogho Atogwe is scheduled to visit the Lions on Tuesday. If the Lions are serious about making a move to improve the safety position, it may be wise for them to not let Atogwe leave without a deal just as the Jets did with Landry.
