- The latest 2012 NFL mock draft from SB Nation has the Detroit Lions selecting North Alabama cornerback Janoris Jenkins.
- Alabama cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick is currently in Detroit and will have his visit with the Lions on Tuesday, according to Tim Twentyman. The Lions are one of 10 teams Kirkpatrick is planning to visit in the lead-up to the draft.
- The Lions are also scheduled to host safety Oshiomogho Atogwe and linebacker David Hawthorne for visits on Tuesday.
- Wes Bunting took a look at Miami (Ohio) offensive lineman Brandon Brooks and described him as "the guard prospect everyone needs to know about." Brooks was the first prospect to be hosted by the Lions this year for a pre-draft visit.
- With Peyton Manning set to join the Denver Broncos, their Super Bowl odds for 2013 have improved to 12/1. The Lions currently are 25/1 favorites.
- Former Lions fullback Jerome Felton is set to visit the Minnesota Vikings.
- Quarterback David Garrard has signed a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins. Garrard had said he would listen if the Lions expressed interest in him for the backup quarterback job, but once Shaun Hill was re-signed, that obviously wasn't going to happen.
