Quarterback Drew Stanton may not be a New York Jet for long. He signed with the Jets last week after taking a visit with the team because he was set to be Mark Sanchez's backup. Stanton had said throughout the offseason that he wanted to go to a team that would give him an opportunity to compete and be the backup. The Jets were a team that provided that opportunity, but that was before they traded for Tim Tebow.
With Tebow already being called Sanchez's backup, Stanton may want out of New York. From Jason La Canfora:
Also, would not be surprised if Jets newly signed back-up QB Drew Stanton asks for a trade or release. Was promised team not looking at QBs

Obviously it was a unique situation that allowed Tebow to become available, but it doesn't change the fact that the Jets apparently broke their promise to Stanton, who now projects to be a third-string quarterback yet again. When the Tebow trade first happened, I jokingly tweeted #FreeStanton, and the "movement" has actually taken off. He really does deserve an opportunity to go elsewhere. The whole reason why I was glad to see him sign with the Jets last week was because he was set to be the backup, but that's not going to happen now.
