2012 NFL Draft: Oregon RB LaMichael James Visits Lions

The Detroit Lions hosted another player for a pre-draft visit on Wednesday. This time they brought in a running back, as Oregon's LaMichael James visited Detroit and met with the team.

I know what you're all probably thinking: "The Lions wouldn't actually draft another running back, would they?" While the Lions have added Jahvid Best and Mikel Leshoure in the draft in the last two years, I don't think that would stop them from drafting somebody like James. Of course, I don't necessarily think it's likely they would draft James, but perhaps if something happens where Best isn't cleared, the Lions would look at a guy like James to replace him.

"We are definitely similar," James said of he and Best. "Turn on the film and we look similar and we're more alike than not. There's always little differences, but for the most part, we're pretty similar."

Jim Schwartz actually attended Oregon's pro day last week, so he got a first-hand look at James' abilities as a back and in general as an athlete.
