Madden 13 Cover Vote: Calvin Johnson Advances To Round Of 16

Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson has moved one step closer to gracing the cover of Madden 13. He moved on to the second round of voting for the cover of Madden 13 by smoking Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe in the round of 32. Johnson received 92 percent of the vote, while Bowe only got eight percent. This was the most lopsided matchup in the first round.

In the round of 16, Johnson is matched up against Houston Texans running back Arian Foster, who edged New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow by a margin of 54 percent to 46 percent. Foster is actually the No. 3 seed on this side of the bracket. Johnson is the No. 6 seed.

If Johnson advances to the final eight, he will be matched up against New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski or Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen.

Personally, as cool as it'd be to have a Lions player on the cover, I'm wary of the jinx. While it may not actually be a real thing, I'd rather be safe than sorry, and I'd feel much more comfortable having Allen or somebody like Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers on the cover. That's just me, though. What do you think?
