The 2012 NFL Draft is less than two weeks away. This means that scouting for the draft has entered the homestretch. The Lions will spend this week taking one last look at certain players and then get their big board ready for next week's draft.
One of the final parts of the Lions' scouting process involves a local workout that they are hosting on Wednesday, April 18. The purpose of it is to bring in a group of players for a workout so the Lions can take a look at several guys at once. After the jump is a list of some of the players expected to be in attendance (the ones we actually know about).
- WR Keshawn Martin (Michigan State)
- TE/LS Danny Enright (Oberlin)
- DE Tyrone Crawford (Boise State)
- S Joshua Howard (Ball State)
A couple of quick notes on this list: 1) Crawford was originally expected to visit the Lions, but it turns out he is merely working out for them. As a result, he won't count as one of the Lions' 30 pre-draft visits. 2) Dave Birkett reported last week that the Lions have shown interest in Martin, and Birkett expects them to draft a wide receiver this year. If I had to guess, based on the receivers they've been looking at, I'd say there's a very good chance of a receiver with return skills being one of the Lions' draft picks next week.
