The Detroit Lions' 2012 schedule is set. It, along with the entire 2012 NFL schedule, was just officially announced. We now know that the Lions will open the 2012 season on Sept. 9 at home against the St. Louis Rams. Here's a look at the full 2012 Lions schedule (all times Eastern)
Week 1 - Sept. 9 - vs. St. Louis Rams (1 p.m., FOX)
Week 2 - Sept. 16 - at San Francisco 49ers (8:20 p.m., NBC)

Week 4 - Sept. 30 - vs. Minnesota Vikings (1 p.m., FOX)
Week 5 - BYE
Week 6 - Oct. 14 - at Philadelphia Eagles (1 p.m., FOX)

Week 14 - Dec. 9 - at Green Bay Packers (8:20 p.m., NBC)
Week 15 - Dec. 16 - at Arizona Cardinals (4:05 p.m., FOX)
Week 16 - Dec. 22 - vs. Atlanta Falcons (8:30 p.m., ESPN)
Week 17 - Dec. 30 - vs. Chicago Bears (1 p.m., FOX)
The Lions schedule for 2012 includes a total of five primetime games in 2012 if you count Thanksgiving. In addition to their Thanksgiving game against the Texans, the Lions will take on the 49ers and Packers on the road on a Sunday night, the Bears on the road on a Monday night and the Falcons at home on a Saturday night (on ESPN).
All in all, I'm pretty pleased with this slate of games. While it's disappointing that the only non-Thanksgiving home primetime game is on a Saturday night in December, the fact that the Lions are playing in five games on national television says a lot about how far this franchise has come in just a few years.
What are your thoughts on the Lions' 2012 slate of games?
