Madden 13 Cover Vote: Calvin Johnson Advances To Finals To Take On Cam Newton

Only Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton stands between Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson and the cover of Madden 13. Johnson and Newton both advanced to the finals of the Madden 13 cover vote, and they are squaring off for the right to be on the cover of this year's game (the winner will be revealed on April 25).

Johnson easily defeated Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the semifinals to move on. He won by a margin of 67 percent to 33 percent, which was actually bigger than his win over Rob Gronkowski in the third round. Apparently there are a lot of fans who like Johnson, or there are just a lot of Packers fans out there who didn't want Rodgers to be on the cover.

Newton squeaked by San Francisco 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis in the semifinals, winning by a margin of 53-47. Before that, Newton cruised to victories in his first three matchups, so it will be interesting to see how he does against Megatron in the finals.

A previous poll on this site revealed that two-thirds of the voters on here didn't want to see Johnson on the cover of Madden, presumably because of the supposed curse that goes along with it. Now that it is a very real possibility that Johnson could end up on the cover of Madden, how are you voting? Do you want Johnson on it or are you playing it safe and going with Newton?
