2012 POD Mock Draft: Tennessee Titans Select Kendall Reyes

With the 52nd pick of Pride of Detroit's 2012 NFL mock draft, the Tennessee Titans select UConn defensive tackle Kendall Reyes. Detroit_fan is serving as the Titans' general manager, and his reasoning for the pick is below.

I thought about going a couple different ways with this pick but decided to take a chance on the guy ranked 35th overall.

Reyes is very good against the run. He's not great against the pass yet, but he does push the pocket pretty well, and I think he has the tools to develop into a good pass rusher. You often see him described as a powerful interior lineman with the athleticism and strength to take it to the next level. He outplayed some of the best O-linemen in the country at the Senior Bowl, and he had a very good combine, including putting up 225 pounds 36 times and posting a 40 time of 4.79.

One thing that became evident while researching him was his leadership and his effect on others. He is a two-time team captain and has a great work ethic that helps motivate others around him.

Because of his height he will need to learn to play "lower" and could even add some muscle onto his frame. He is a pretty raw talent, but I think Tennessee's coaches can turn him into a very good DT. Adding him to a defensive line with Kamerion Wimbley and Whitney Mercilus should really help the Titans, which were second to last in sacks in 2011.
