- The Detroit Lions and WXYZ have extended their partnership for four more years. This means Lions preseason games that aren't on national TV will continue to be broadcast by WXYZ.
- The NFL is already hyping up the Week 2 matchup between the Lions and San Francisco 49ers, which will be their first meeting since the handshake incident between Jim Schwartz and Jim Harbaugh.
- The Philadelphia Eagles nearly traded cornerback Asante Samuel to the Denver Broncos for a fifth-round or sixth-round pick. The Broncos couldn't agree with Samuel on how to restructure his deal, so the trade is off. The Eagles are still trying to get rid of him, though, and Adam Schefter doesn't think they will be able to get anything more than a sixth-round pick because Samuel's contract is so large.
- Dominic Raiola is well aware that he is going to suffer from memory loss after football and he said this week that he is ready for it. He also said that all of the issues are "totally worth it" because playing football is "the best job in the world."
- Speaking of memory loss and concussions, former Lions Lomas Brown and Alex Karras have joined lawsuits against the NFL over this issue.
- Calvin Johnson has a very responsible financial plan moving forward.
- Tom Lewand recently said that the Lions' goal is to win "many" championships.
- Last Sunday, Ndamukong Suh attended a Pistons game and Matthew Stafford and Kyle Vanden Bosch attended a Red Wings playoff game.
- Suh and teammate Tony Scheffler are part owners of a new training center in the Bloomfield area.
- Charles Rogers allegedly threatened to kill his mother over $100,000.
- Alfonzo Dennard's draft stock just plummeted. He was arrested this morning on suspicion of punching a police officer.
