Detroit Lions Among Biggest Week 1 Favorites In 2012

With the 2012 NFL schedule set, lines have been released for Week 1 of the season. While it may still be far too early to start predicting games with the NFL Draft not even taking place yet, favorites have already been established for the first games of the season.

Interestingly, the two biggest favorites in Week 1 both reside in the NFC North. The Chicago Bears are favored by 8.5 points over the Indianapolis Colts in what should be Andrew Luck's first real game as quarterback of his new team. The other big favorite in Week 1 is our very own Detroit Lions. They are favored to beat the St. Louis Rams by 7.5 points.

Although the spread indicates it might not be a very close game, there will be some interesting storylines surrounding the Lions-Rams matchup. Jim Schwartz is set to take on friend and former boss Jeff Fisher, who is now the head coach of the Rams. You can bet that will get a lot of play in the days leading up to the game.
