After months and months of waiting and anticipation, the 2012 NFL Draft is almost here. Later today, the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft will be held in New York. As the first 32 picks are made, fans can finally start putting the phrase "mock draft" in the back of their mind and start worrying about the actual selections.
For Detroit Lions fans, this year will be a bit odd. With the Lions not picking until No. 23 overall, fans will have to wait around for a while unless the team trades up. For reference, the 23rd overall pick last year was announced at around 10:34 p.m. ET, so patience will especially be required this year.
While the Lions likely won't be picking until after 10, the action gets started a couple hours earlier. Here's a look at the 2012 NFL Draft schedule for tonight, Friday and Saturday:
Round 1: Thursday, April 26, 8 p.m. ET, ESPN and NFL Network, Channel 88 Sirius XM
Rounds 2-3: Friday, April 27, 7 p.m. ET, ESPN and NFL Network, Channel 88 Sirius XM
Rounds 4-7: Saturday, April 28, 12 p.m. ET, ESPN and NFL Network, Channel 88 Sirius XM
