As most expected going into the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft, North Alabama cornerback Janoris Jenkins was not selected on Thursday night. While talent-wise he is considered to be on a first-round level, his character concerns dropped him out of the first 32 picks.
Although his slide may have resulted in him dropping to day two of the draft, it doesn't seem like Jenkins will last very long once the second round gets going. From Jason La Canfora:
CB Janoris Jenkins is very hot right now. Several teams looking to trade up for him, which could lead to team like BAL dropping down again

It's times like these where I really wish the Lions had a higher second-round pick or an extra third-rounder to put them in better position to make a move. While many still are opposed to the idea of drafting Jenkins, landing him in the second round would be a steal in my book. Sure, the character concerns are still there, but to me the risk is more than worth it with him falling to day two and out of the first round.
