Now that he is on the cover of Madden 13, it should come as no surprise that Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson is suddenly showing up on promotional stops for the game. On Thursday night at the 2012 NFL Draft, for example, Johnson was brought to the stage by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to be recognized as the new cover athlete and to announce the Lions' first-round pick. Yes, there was even a Kardashian reference in there. Stay away, Calvin. Stay far, far away from them.
In all seriousness, expect to see Johnson quite a bit in the media in the coming months as a result of landing the cover of the game. As he anticipated, being on the cover is already garnering a lot of attention for both him and the Lions, and I'm sure this will continue to be the case in the lead-up to the game being released in the summer.
