On Thursday, linebacker Bobby Carpenter signed with the New England Patriots, ending his two-season stint in Detroit with the Lions. Carpenter joined the Lions during the 2010 season and was re-signed in 2011. This year, no deal happened with Carpenter in Detroit, but he found a very nice landing spot with the Patriots.
After signing with the Pats, Carpenter took to Twitter to thank fans and his former teammates for their support the past two seasons.
Wanted to say THANK YOU to all of the Lions fans and teammates who supported me the last few years. Loved every minuted there. Good luck2012

I was really hoping the Lions would bring Carpenter back. He fit very nicely in their defense as a backup and provided good depth.
Best of luck to him with the Patriots.
