With the 12th pick of Pride of Detroit's 2012 NFL mock draft, the Seattle Seahawks select Boston College linebacker Luke Kuechly. UgottaBkiddinMe is serving as the Seahawks' general manager, and his reasoning for the pick is below.

This pick became incredibly easy recently with the New Orleans Saints (boooo) signing ILB David Hawthorne away from Seattle. I don't believe Seattle ever really anticipated him coming back anyway, so to replace him on the team they will select ILB Luke Kuechly, who was a standout college player and performed great at the NFL Combine.

Seattle has needs at OL, WR, DL, ILB and CB. However, considering the way this draft is shaping up, the OL talent is somewhat depleted for this slot and the two best WRs have been selected. They could draft DL or CB here, but considering the best ILB (the measureables and the on field play match up) to possibly come out in several years is sitting right there, you have to take him.

(Kuechly's stats: 6'3", 242 lbs., 4.58-second 40-yard dash, 27-rep bench press, 38.0-inch vertical leap, 123.0-inch broad jump and 6.92-second three-cone drill.)
