Lions To Bring In Todd Storm, James Harrell On Tryout Deals

In addition to the undrafted free agents the Detroit Lions have signed to participate in the upcoming rookie mini-camp and later training camp, the team is also bringing in UDFAs for tryouts. This allows the Lions to bring in some extra bodies for the mini-camp and then potentially sign them after they get an up-close look in person.

Two players set to join the mini-camp next week on a tryout basis are Michigan Tech defensive end Todd Storm and Arkansas-Pine Bluff cornerback James Harrell. Here's more info on Storm:

Storm finished with 18.5 sacks. He was named to the All-GLIAC first team in 2010 and 2011 and was also named the conference's Defensive Lineman of the Year in both those years.

Interestingly, Dave Birkett reports that Harrell will attend the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' rookie camp as a tryout this week. Assuming that doesn't result in him getting a contract, the plan is for him to join the Lions for their rookie mini-camp from May 11-13.
