Detroit Lions Sign 19 Undrafted Free Agents (UPDATED)

The Detroit Lions have officially announced the signing of 17 undrafted free agents. Since the draft came to an end last month, we have been tracking the Lions' reported UDFA signings. Not all of the players on the unofficial list ended up on the official list, but I'll get to that in a second. First, let's take a look at the 17 UDFAs who have signed with the Lions. (Note: 19 players are now on the list. See the update below for why.)

  • QB Kellen Moore (Boise State)
  • RB Stephfon Green (Penn State)
  • WR Troy Burrell (Wayne State)
  • WR Patrick Edwards (Houston)
  • WR Jared Karstetter (Washington State)
  • WR Wallace Miles (North Carolina A&T)
  • TE Alex Gottlieb (William & Mary)
  • TE Austin Wells (Northern Iowa)
  • OT Quinn Barham (Penn State)
  • OG Rodney Austin (Elon)
  • OG Pat Boyle (Temple)
  • OG J.C. Oram (Weber State)
  • DE Edmon McClam (Old Dominion)
  • DT Michael Cosgrove (Idaho)
  • LB Ronnie Sneed (Kentucky)
  • LB Carmen Messina (New Mexico)
  • S Alonzo Lawrence (Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College)
  • S Sam Proctor (Oklahoma)
  • K Derek Dimke (Illinois)

The three players who didn't make it from the unofficial list to the official list are RB Jacquise Terry (Kent Sate), DE Brandon Rankin (Washington State) and S Sam Proctor (Oklahoma). This is likely because they were invited to the rookie minicamp on a tryout basis rather than signed to an actual contract.

UPDATE: S Sam Proctor has now signed with the Lions, as has WR Wallace Miles. The two players attended the Lions' minicamp as tryouts but now are under contract. The list above has been updated to reflect the signings.
