Calvin Johnson Goes Yard At Comerica Park

As mentioned on Thursday, Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson is at Comerica Park today to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Tigers-Pirates game. A few hours before the game, Johnson got a chance to take part in batting practice with Tigers players. Although he may be a football player first, Johnson is no stranger to the game of baseball, so I suppose it shouldn't come as a huge surprise that he went yard during batting practice.

Johnson left a signed football for Tigers manager Jim Leyland and chatted with some Tigers players while out on the field. While they were apparently giving him some tips before he took batting practice, I think Megatron may want to give them some tips based on their play as of late.

UPDATE: There is now video out of Johnson's home run.
