The Detroit Lions kicked off their organized team activities this morning in Allen Park. Although some players didn't participate because of injuries and other reasons, one player who was surprisingly on the field was second-round pick Ryan Broyles.
After not taking part in the rookie minicamp, it was a bit of a surprise to hear that Broyles was able to take part in the individual drills during the OTA, but it's a sign that he is progressing from his ACL injury. In fact, Broyle's return to a football field coincided with the day marking that it has been six months since his surgery.
6 months ago from this day I had surgery.. Today was the first day I touched the practice field! Man so blessed.. Hard work pays off!

Tim Twentyman reported this morning that Broyles ran routes and caught passes from quarterbacks and looked good doing so. While he is not 100 percent just yet and he did not participate in the Lions' seven-on-seven drill, the fact that Broyles is already participating in some drills is promising considering we are still two months away from training camp.
