The NFL regular season may be three and a half months away, but odds for what will happen in 2012 are already coming out. Last week, for example, point spreads were released for nearly every Detroit Lions game in 2012. Now, the win totals are being released for the upcoming season by Cantor Gaming.
The Lions' win total for 2012 has been set at 9.5 wins. The over is a slight underdog to the under, meaning the Lions are narrowly favored to win nine games or fewer in 2012. For the Lions to hit the over, they need to at the very least have a repeat of 2011 and win 10 games.
As a reminder, here is what the Lions' schedule looks like for 2012:
Week 1 - vs. St. Louis Rams |
Week 9 - at Jacksonville Jaguars |
I do think it's still a bit too early to start making predictions about exact win totals, but at this point, I would go with the over. I think the Lions can get to at least 10 victories in 2012 just based on looking at the schedule. What do you think?
