DE Edmon McClam (Old Dominion) - Undrafted Free Agent
Today we shift to the defensive side of the ball in our scouting reports of Detroit Lions undrafted free agents. The first defensive player getting a look is defensive end Edmon McClam, who hails from Old Dominion. McClam is the lone undrafted defensive end to sign with the Lions this year, and he is one of only two defensive linemen on the list of UDFA signings.

Outlook for 2012
To say the least, McClam's chances of making the 53-man roster are slim to none barring a rash of injuries to defensive ends on the team. The Lions are stacked at the position with Cliff Avril, Kyle Vanden Bosch, Lawrence Jackson, Willie Young and Ronnell Lewis figuring to make the team. Everette Brown and Ugo Chinasa are also currently on the roster, so McClam's best shot to stick around is likely by earning a spot on the practice squad.
