Lions Hosting Chris Crocker For Visit, According to Report

Free-agent running back Ryan Grant may not be visiting the Detroit Lions, but safety Chris Crocker is, according to Jason La Canfora. Crocker is set to visit the Lions on Tuesday before heading to another team on Wednesday.

Crocker has been in the NFL since 2003 and has played for four teams. His first three years were spent in Cleveland with the Browns, and then he moved on to the Atlanta Falcons for two seasons and the Miami Dolphins for part of one. Crocker had been in Cincinnati playing for the Bengals the last four seasons. He started all 16 games in 2011, but the team released him in April.

The Lions evidently are still on the lookout for safety help. Earlier in the offseason, they hosted safety Oshiomogho Atogwe for a visit, but he is still a free agent, so perhaps Crocker could be signed as extra depth at the position.
