Earlier this week, it was revealed that Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford came in at No. 41 on NFL Network's "Top 100 Players of 2012" list. The series ranks the top 100 players currently in the league based on votes from the players.
While many believe Stafford should be ranked higher, he is just happy to be on the list this year, as he told NFL Network on this week's reaction show.
"I’m happy to be on this list. Obviously I struggled to stay on the field my first two years, was able to put one good season together last year and hopefully looking for more to come.
"I’m just happy the guys in the league felt I was playing well enough to vote me on this list."
If Stafford can have another season in 2012 like he did in 2011, I think it will be a safe bet for Stafford to be ranked much higher than 41st next year.
