Percy Harvin Requests Trade From Vikings, According To Report

There is a bit of turmoil developing in Minnesota. The Vikings opened their mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, and wide receiver Percy Harvin made headlines by saying that he hasn't been happy as of late with the team. He also said "there's a lot of different things that have to be sorted out." Many took this as a sign of a possible holdout, but instead Harvin has allegedly requested a trade. From the Associated Press:

One day after expressing frustration over several unspecified issues with the Vikings, a person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press on Wednesday that Harvin has requested a trade. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue.

It seems highly unlikely that the Vikings will trade away Harvin. He is a talented player, and although he has had issues with migraines, he is an important piece of the Vikings' offense. There isn't a ton of talent to begin with, so I can't see them dealing him just because he's unhappy.

With all that said, I'm certainly rooting for a trade. It'd be nice to get a player like Harvin out of the NFC North, and it'd also be nice to see the Vikings' offense become even more one-dimensional.

UPDATE: Vikings general manager Rick Spielman says he has "no interest at all" in dealing Harvin.
