On Monday, the Detroit Lions agreed to terms with wide receiver Maurice Stovall. On Tuesday, the new one-year deal became official, meaning Stovall officially rejoined the team.
The corresponding move to make room on the roster for Stovall also became official on Tuesday:
The Lions released WR Jared Karstetter to make room on the 90-man roster for WR Maurice Stovall, who the team signed to a one-year deal.

Karstetter was originally signed by the Lions this offseason as an undrafted free agent out of Washington State. The move to let him go comes as no real surprise, as the Lions had 12 receivers on the roster. It was a given that one of the UDFAs was going to be let go, and Karstetter ended up being the odd man out. It's also not a surprise considering MLive's Justin Rogers reported that Karstetter "dropped more balls than anyone" when the media got a chance to watch organized team activities.
