Detroit Lions safety Amari Spievey missed the first couple weeks of organized team activities. The team didn't have much to say about why Spievey was absent, and it wasn't really clear if he was out with a new injury or if he simply wasn't cleared from the concussion he played with in the playoffs against the New Orleans Saints.
After Spievey made his offseason practice debut on Monday, we got things cleared up. Jim Schwartz didn't share any details, but Tim Twentyman reported that Spievey had indeed returned after being cleared from a concussion.
Spievey finally cleared after playoff concussion: "I just wanted to make sure everything was fine before I rushed back into things."

Schwartz admitted that Spievey is playing catch-up right now because "he's a little bit rusty." The good news is he came back in time for a week of OTAs and the minicamp next week. By the time training camp rolls around, he should be good to go.
