Quarterback Kellen Moore may have been the highest profile undrafted free agent who signed with the Detroit Lions this year, but wide receiver Patrick Edwards may end up being the biggest UDFA signing for them when all is said and done. Edwards has been a common pick to make the team by fans the last few months thanks to his great speed, and he has been hyped up quite a bit.
With training camp underway, Edwards is getting a chance to show what he's got, and so far it looks like the hype was deserved. On Saturday, he put on quite a show during practice, as evidenced by all of the tweets about him.

It's not often that undrafted free agents make teams, but WR Patrick Edwards' speed will make it hard to cut him. Kid flies

Edwards was my pick to win the No. 5 wide receiver job after the Lions wrapped up their minicamp in June, and I see no reason to change that pick now. It's still early, and Jim Schwartz did say after today's practice that Edwards needs to do a better job of limiting fumbles, but he's off to a great start.
The Lions have no shortage of playmakers on offense, and that especially looks to be the case with the addition of Edwards to the receiving corps.
