In addition to safety Louis Delmas being sidelined to get a day of rest, the Detroit Lions were also once again without running back Mikel Leshoure, offensive tackle Jeff Backus and safety Erik Coleman today. The three players got banged up on Saturday and have now missed the last two days of practice.
There was nothing new today on Leshoure's hamstring injury, and the only update on Coleman was that he was jogging with a trainer. There was a notable update on Backus' injury, though. The Lions and Backus are still declining to provide details on the seriousness of the injury, but this is a pretty good indication that his thumb is broken:
Jeff Backus had a hard cast on his right thumb today. Change from the brace he was wearing yesterday.

All three players are considered to have short-term injuries, according to Jim Schwartz, but it remains to be seen when exactly they will be back on the practice field.
