- NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is going to stop by Detroit Lions training camp later this week, according to Mike O'Hara. The visit does not have to do with the Lions' off-field issues, but rather it is simply part of his annual training camp tour. I'm sure the off-field issues will be discussed during his stop in Allen Park, though.
- Jim Schwartz said on Monday that he is "really proud" of what Titus Young has shown since returning from his post-sucker punch hiatus earlier this offseason.
- One of the things Schwartz has been harping on during training camp so far is cutting down on penalties, according to Dominic Raiola.
- Jason Fox is well aware that he needs to stay healthy this year after dealing with injury issues in his first two seasons in the NFL.
- Lions running backs coach Sam Gash expects Jahvid Best to return to the field and play at some point.
- Gash compared Stefan Logan to Darren Sproles when asked about him on Monday.
- Detroit Pistons head coach Lawrence Frank and assistant general manager George David attended the Lions' practice on Monday.
- According to Anwar Richardson, a scout from the CFL was also at Monday's practice. In all likelihood, he was scouting players who will likely be cut in a month.
- Lions players are hoping Cliff Avril will sign his franchise tender and report to training camp soon.
- The Associated Press is launching a new AP Pro32 poll that will rank NFL teams each week during the season. Essentially, it's going to be a weekly power rankings type of thing in the format of a college football poll.
