Just as they were last year, the Detroit Lions are a very good team when it comes to fantasy football. Their high-powered offense means there are a lot of players worth drafting in your fantasy football league, especially at the quarterback and wide receiver positions.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Calvin Johnson established themselves as top players at their respective positions last year for fantasy football. Stafford threw for more than 5,000 yards and had 41 touchdowns, 16 of which were hauled in by Johnson. This year, Stafford and Johnson figure to put up big numbers again, and I'd imagine they won't last long in most fantasy football drafts.
Other top options on offense include tight end Brandon Pettigrew and wide receiver Titus Young, who is poised to have a breakout season.

#Lions WR coach Shawn Jefferson told me if you play fantasy football, draft@titusyoung this year.
The Lions also have draftable players in running back Kevin Smith, wide receiver Nate Burleson and tight end Tony Scheffler. Running back Mikel Leshoure might be worth a pick in a later round, and if fellow running back Jahvid Best can get cleared, he's not a bad option at running back. The Lions' defense/special teams unit also is an attractive option given the potential for them to rack up a lot of sacks and turnovers.
