The Detroit Lions still haven't announced the trade they made for cornerback Kevin Barnes. The reason for this is likely because it's not official just yet. According to Dave Birkett, Barnes is going to get a physical on Tuesday. Once he passes it, then the trade will be official and an announcement will likely be made.
While we don't have any official word from the Lions (or the Washington Redskins, for that matter), we do now know what they gave up in the trade.
Shanahan: brown to pup... Barnes traded for conditional pick.

Conditional pick usually means a seventh-rounder in situations like this. The condition is probably playing time, meaning if Barnes doesn't end up making the 53-man roster or something, the Lions may not end up having to give up a pick. At the same time, it's possible the condition is that the pick will be upgraded to a higher round if he plays a certain amount of snaps. I imagine we'll learn more when the trade becomes official.
