- Earlier this week, Jahvid Best said that he isn't suffering from post-concussion symptoms; he just hasn't passed the test to clear him for contact. He does expect to be cleared at some point during camp, though.
- The NFL is keeping a close eye on Best's situation, according to Roger Goodell. It's the doctors' call for when Best can return, and I'm sure the league wants to make sure it stays that way and there's no outside influence from Best or the team.
- Tim Twentyman and Mike O'Hara sat down with Goodell after he stopped by the Lions' practice on Thursday.

- Even though they no longer play for the Lions, Johnny Culbreath's arrest and Aaron Berry's arrests still count against the team's total since they happened when the players were on the roster.
- Earlier this week, Jim Schwartz denied that he was taking a shot at the Green Bay Packers with his comment from back in June about not canceling practice to go skeet shooting. Interestingly enough, when Schwartz heard about Mike McCarthy's response to his comments, Schwartz was actually out skeet shooting with his son.
- Matthew Stafford has the eighth-best ranking among quarterbacks in Madden 13.
- The Lions came in tied for 11th with the Chicago Bears in the first ever NFL Pro32 Power Rankings.
