Kassim Osgood's tweet about cornerback Drayton Florence joining the Detroit Lions hasn't come true just yet. As of right now, Florence is still a free agent, but that may not be the case for long. I say that because Dave Birkett reports that Florence is set to visit the Lions before the end of the weekend, a sign that he may be on the verge of officially signing.
Sounds like Drayton Florence will be in town tomorrow. No point visiting if you don't plan to sign...

As pointed out by Birkett in the Free Press, Osgood played for five seasons with Florence and also has the same agent (Drew Rosenhaus). That is the connection, which is why you would have to imagine that Osgood has some insight into Florence's situation.
While a deal isn't official right now, all signs do point to Florence signing with the Lions on Sunday.
