As expected, safety Ricardo Silva is back with the Detroit Lions as a member of the practice squad. Silva was waived earlier this week when the team signed cornerback Drayton Florence. He originally made the 53-man roster as the fifth safety, and the Lions deemed him expendable with the addition of Florence.
On Wednesday, the Lions signed Silva to the practice squad. He spent most of last season on the practice squad, and now he is there once again in case the Lions need added safety depth and want to quickly sign someone.
