Oh sweet happy day, the regular season is finally here for the Detroit Lions. It has been a long wait for meaningful football involving the Lions to return ever since they were knocked out of the playoffs last season. Now, after a long, long offseason and a relatively boring preseason, it's time for the regular season to begin.
On Sunday, the Lions will take on the St. Louis Rams in their season opener. The Rams come to town after an eventful offseason that saw them fire Steve Spagnuolo and hire Jim Schwartz's former boss, Jeff Fisher. The Lions are the favorites to emerge victorious at Ford Field on Sunday afternoon, but you really have to take the spread with a grain of salt in Week 1.
