Just as he did last year, Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson is going to sit out the Pro Bowl because of an injury. Johnson's decision to not play in the game was actually officially announced by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as Vincent Jackson is serving as his replacement.
Great news: Vincent Jackson has been added to the NFC Pro Bowl roster! He's replacing Calvin Johnson, who is unable to play due to injury.

This comes as no surprise, as Johnson dealt with numerous injuries throughout the season. He missed quite a few practices during the season because he was banged up, although that obviously didn't seem to affect his play on the field very much.
Dave Birkett reports that Johnson is still planning to go to Hawaii for the game along with his fellow receivers. He did the same thing last year, so even though he isn't going to play, he is still going to enjoy the Pro Bowl experience.
