Chip Kelly has been hired by the Philadelphia Eagles as their new head coach. This was expected to happen earlier in the month before Kelly changed his mind and decided to stay at Oregon. On Wednesday, it came out that Kelly was leaving Oregon for the Eagles after apparently changing his mind again.
As a football fan, I'm glad that Kelly is going to the Eagles. His teams at Oregon were a lot of fun to watch, and I'm very interested to see how his offense will translate to the NFL. The New England Patriots have already incorporated aspects of Kelly's fast-paced offense, but not on a full-time basis. Kelly is all about speed, and it should be interesting to see if it works in Philadelphia.
The Detroit Lions will get an up-close look at Kelly in 2013. The Eagles are one of the Lions' 2013 opponents, and Detroit is set to face them in Philadelphia for the second year in a row.
