It's official: Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is going to the 2013 Pro Bowl. He wasn't initially selected to the NFC roster at defensive tackle, but with the San Francisco 49ers' Justin Smith going to the Super Bowl, Suh is getting a chance to step in as an alternate.
Suh has now been named to the Pro Bowl in two of his first three seasons in the league. He was named a Pro Bowler as a rookie two seasons ago, and he has received that honor again for his play during the 2012 season.
Suh finished 2012 with 35 tackles and 8.0 sacks. While his numbers were down from his rookie year, Suh made a big impact, especially in the final couple months of the season. He may not have always showed up on the stat sheet, but he left his mark on several games thanks to his dominant play on the defensive line.
With Suh being added to the Pro Bowl, the Lions now have three players on the NFC roster. The other two are long snapper Don Muhlbach and wide receiver Calvin Johnson, who isn't actually going to play in the game because of an injury.
