Lions injury report: Good news on Calvin Johnson, others

The Detroit Lions' first injury report of the week looks pretty positive.

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Lions' first practice of the week surprisingly featured wide receiver Calvin Johnson, running back Joique Bell and cornerback Rashean Mathis on the field. All three players were limited, but given that Johnson is still dealing with a knee injury and Bell and Mathis both got hurt last week, it's a positive sign that they were able to practice at all. Bell's appearance in particular was a surprise given that his rib injury is giving him discomfort, but he doesn't want to miss this week's game.

Here's the full Wednesday injury report for the Lions:

RB Joique Bell (ribs) - Limited in practice
RB Theo Riddick (concussion) - Did not practice
WR Calvin Johnson (knee) - Limited in practice
WR Nate Burleson (forearm) - Did not practice
TE Tony Scheffler (concussion) - Did not practice
OT Jason Fox (knee) - Did not practice
CB Rashean Mathis (groin) - Limited in practice
S Louis Delmas (knee) - Did not practice

(Note: Running back Montell Owens, who is on injured reserve with the designation to return, practiced on Wednesday.)
