As expected, cornerback Chris Greenwood is returning to the Detroit Lions. Justin Rogers reports that Greenwood is planning to re-sign with the Lions on Friday as a member of their practice squad. Greenwood was on their practice squad earlier in the season before being signed to the Dallas Cowboys' 53-man roster.
After having him around for a few games, the Cowboys released Greenwood earlier this week. Immediately, speculation suggested that Greenwood would be back with the Lions, and Dave Birkett reports that he had a total of four different practice squad offers. In the end, the former fifth-round pick out of Albion decided to return to Detroit to re-join the Lions' practice squad.
As it stands right now, the following eight players are on the Lions' practice squad:
RB Steven Miller
WR Patrick Edwards
WR Corey Fuller
WR Jeremy Ross
OG Rodney Austin
DT Jimmy Saddler-McQueen
DT Xavier Proctor
LB Brandon Hepburn
The Lions do not need three wide receivers, so my guess is Ross will be let go. He was just added to the practice squad last week, and I can't imagine the Lions have any interest in releasing Edwards or Fuller.
