NFL power rankings, Week 8: Not much changes for Lions

Despite suffering a home loss last week, the Detroit Lions didn't move at all in most power rankings this week.

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

The national perception about the Detroit Lions doesn't seem to have changed too much following their home loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. I suppose that makes sense when you consider that the Bengals were 4-2 going into the game and are still leading the AFC North. Cincinnati is a good team, and in most NFL power rankings this week, the Lions were not penalized for losing to them. Take a look:

The Dallas Cowboys, Detroit's next opponent, are ranked 10th (SB Nation), 10th (ESPN), 10th (CBS Sports), 10th (FOX Sports) and 10th (Pro Football Talk). That's right -- every single set of power rankings has the Cowboys in the same spot this week. Now that's consistency.

Should the Lions pick up a win and move to 5-3 going into their bye week, they could be looking at jumping into the top 10 for Week 9.
