Lions injury report: Jason Fox practices, Calvin Johnson doesn't

Jason Fox returned to practice for the Detroit Lions on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Calvin Johnson sat out the session.

With Riley Reiff and Corey Hilliard both banged up, the Detroit Lions are lacking depth at the offensive tackle position. That's why, from a timing standpoint, it was good that Jason Fox returned to practice on Wednesday. He has been out for most of the season because of various injuries, but he was back at practice and got No. 1 reps (along with LaAdrian Waddle) at offensive tackle. Hopefully that's a sign that he will be able to play this week.

Wide receiver Calvin Johnson did not take part in Wednesday's practice. The thinking is that he was sidelined simply to rest up after playing so much last week. As long as he's back at practice later in the week, there shouldn't be any concerns about his status for Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.

Here's the Lions' full injury report for Wednesday:

RB Theo Riddick (concussion) - Fully practiced
WR Calvin Johnson (knee) - Did not practice
WR Nate Burleson (forearm) - Did not practice
OT Riley Reiff (hamstring) - Did not practice
