NFL midseason awards 2013: Make your updated picks

It's time to update our predictions and hand out some NFL midseason awards.

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

We've just about hit the halfway point for the 2013 NFL season. Teams like the Detroit Lions are halfway through their schedule, and now is a good time to look back at the first half of the season. It's also a good time to look back at predictions from before the season and see how they've changed, if at all.

With that in mind, let's hand out some midseason awards and make some midseason predictions about Super Bowl 48. Here are my picks:

Super Bowl matchup: Seattle Seahawks vs. Denver Broncos
Super Bowl champion: Seahawks
Offensive MVP: Peyton Manning
Defensive MVP: Justin Houston
Coach of the year: Andy Reid
Rookie of the year: Kiko Alonso

I left my Super Bowl matchup, Super Bowl champion and offensive MVP picks alone. They are the same as they were going into the season. The other three categories are different, though. I have Houston as the defensive MVP instead of J.J. Watt, Reid as the top coach instead of Pete Carroll and Alonso as the top rookie instead of Tavon Austin.

What do your midseason picks look like?
