Back in September, before the 2013 season kicked off, Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham had a 51 percent approval rating. This was actually slightly down from his 54 percent approval rating in June. Like head coach Jim Schwartz, general manager Martin Mayhew and offensive coordinator Scott Linehan, Cunningham's rating dropped following training camp and the preseason.
Now, will Cunningham see his approval rating jump up thanks to the Lions' 3-1 start? The defense has consistently produced a lot more turnovers than last year, and generally speaking, it's performed quite well through the first quarter of the season. Just how well? Well, I guess that's up to you.
