If the Detroit Lions want to end their road losing streak against the Green Bay Packers, they are going to have to do it without their best player. Wide receiver Calvin Johnson, who missed practice this week with a knee injury, is not going to play on Sunday. He's inactive, meaning he is set to miss only his fifth career game in the NFL.
This news comes as a major surprise considering Johnson has often missed practice and still played on Sunday. Last year, that basically became the routine for Johnson during his record-breaking season. Clearly, his knee injury is more serious than anybody really thought, and now the Lions will have to somehow find a way to beat the Packers without Megatron. It'd be quite the upset if they somehow manage to pull this one off.
Here's the full list of inactives for the Lions (take note that cornerback Chris Houston and offensive tackle Jason Fox are playing):
QB Kellen Moore
RB Mikel Leshoure
WR Calvin Johnson
WR Nate Burleson
OT LaAdrian Waddle
C Leroy Harris
CB Jonte Green
And here are the Packers' inactives:
RB James Starks
TE Brandon Bostick
OG Greg Van Roten
DE C.J. Wilson
DE Josh Boyd
LB Nate Palmer
CB Casey Hayward
