There was quite a bit of injury news following the Detroit Lions' loss to the Green Bay Packers, so let's get right into it.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford was seen with a "big wrap and ice on his right knee" after the game, according to Dave Birkett. Is this an actual injury or just general soreness from taking 5 sacks? It's not known right now, but it's never a good sign when your quarterback's knee is in need of ice. Hopefully this is just something minor.
Wide receiver Calvin Johnson missed Sunday's game because of a knee injury. It turns out that he was "close" to playing, according to Tim Twentyman, and Johnson doesn't believe this will be anything that keeps him out long term. He just wasn't able to complete his usual pre-game warmup, which is why he sat out Sunday's game.
Moving on to some other offensive players who are dealing with injuries, running back Theo Riddick made a trip to the hospital after suffering a concussion during Sunday's game. Another running back, Joique Bell, had both of his knees wrapped following the game, per Kyle Meinke, and wide receiver Kris Durham had ice on his right thumb.
Finally, offensive tackle Jason Fox left Sunday's game with a knee injury. He returned from a groin injury that had kept him out since Week 1 and got the start at right tackle, but he didn't seem to be playing very well. After he left with the knee injury, Corey Hilliard took over once again as the starting right tackle.
