Lions injury report: Nate Burleson closer to returning to game action

Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson is making good progress in his recovery from a broken arm.

Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

Nate Burleson was one of two Detroit Lions players limited in practice on Wednesday. Burleson practiced all last week, but he was not able to return to game action. Things are looking much more promising this week, though.

It's still unclear if Burleson will actually make his return to game action this week, as the Lions are not rushing him back. It's clear that he's on track to return relatively soon, though, as his workload seems to be increasing in practice.

The other Lions player who practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday, by the way, was offensive tackle Corey Hilliard. That's a good sign for him, but I can't imagine the Lions have any plans to take LaAdrian Waddle out of the starting lineup. He has been outstanding, and Waddle continued to get No. 1 reps at right tackle on Wednesday, per Josh Katzenstein.

Here's the Lions' full Wednesday injury report:

RB Montell Owens (knee) - Did not practice
WR Calvin Johnson (knee) - Did not practice
WR Nate Burleson (forearm) - Limited in practice
OT Corey Hilliard (knee) - Limited in practice
DE Ziggy Ansah (ankle) - Did not practice
CB Bill Bentley (knee) - Did not practice
S Louis Delmas (knee) - Did not practice
