After having a walkthrough on Monday, the Detroit Lions actually practiced on Tuesday. Three players were absent: wide receiver Calvin Johnson, linebacker Travis Lewis and cornerback Chris Houston. Lewis was out for personal reasons, whereas Johnson is dealing with a knee injury and Houston has a foot issue.
Johnson's knee injury is nothing new, and it actually caused him to miss the first meeting with the Green Bay Packers this season. Obviously there's some concern with this being a short week and him missing practice, but Johnson said on Tuesday that he will be "all right."
Houston's situation doesn't sound quite as promising. He had an MRI on Monday, and Dave Birkett reports that there was a boot in front of Houston's locker. Reading between the lines, it wouldn't be surprising if Houston is unable to go this week.
Here's the Lions' full Tuesday injury report:
WR Calvin Johnson (knee) - Did not practice
DE Israel Idonije (knee) - Fully practiced
LB Travis Lewis (not injury related) - Did not practice
CB Chris Houston (foot) - Did not practice
S Louis Delmas (knee) - Limited in practice
S Glover Quin (ankle) - Limited in practice
